Age:34 Male For all my life, I basically could not breath through my nose. I had DS surgery, and 10k later, still no relief. My ENR doctor post surgery told me its hereditary and that the structure of my face was the culprit - there was nothing I could do. I had turbinate deduction procedure, still no luck. I tried everything you could think of to the point where I thought I was just crazy and overthinking it. I was ready to throw in the towel. I continued to search for solutions and came across Dr Koval's practice - my last stand. After a consultation with her, we determined my maxilla (upper jaw) was abnormally narrow. She explained to me that I was a good candidate for expansion (MARPE) and that there was a chance it would help me breath better. She was very modest and careful to not overpromise anything. I was terrified to have this appliance installed in my mouth. The timeframe she gave me turned out much shorter than expected. The procedure was not nearly as bad as it sounds, and it was over before i knew it. Great experience at Dr. Koval’s office! I visited Dr. Koval’s for a consultation, where she was available to provide a detailed treatment plan and thorough information on my airway based off my CBCT. I am completely confident in Dr. Koval and the office, I can’t wait to start my FME treatment!

I traveled to Dr Koval, specifically to see her after a disappointing experience with another MARPE provider in Chicago. From the first consultation to now, it has been very smooth. The MARPE placement was fast, straightforward, and completely painless. With this type of treatment, you shouldn’t choose a provider based on proximity—you should be willing to travel for expert care instead of settling for mediocre options nearby. There is a BIG difference between an orthodontist who "does everything" vs. a provider strictly focusing on MARPE and aligning the bite correctly after the MARPE is removed. Dr Koval is that provider with high attention to detail. She corrected the specific issue I needed addressed. The entire process has been clean and efficient—no hiccups. I’m currently in the bite alignment phase, which takes time, but I’m seeing solid progress in the right direction. The office ships the 3D-printed aligners to my out-of-state address without any issues. She also placed composite to cover the diastema during MARPE activation, which I appreciated. After considering many orthodontists for my son's case, I ultimately went with Dr Koval for her knowledge and expertise in airways. This is a fairly new concept in the United States and DR Koval is the sole Doctor in the area that offers a multidisciplinary approach to it. I was impressed by the technology in the office as well with the expertise of all the team members. Her approach makes so much sense and the way she breaks it down makes it very easy to understand. My son is half way through his treatment and we are seeing so much improvement already with his Invisalign and expansion treatment.

We have had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Koval and her entire team. From the moment we first walked into the office, we were immediately impressed by the professionalism and kindness of every single staff member. The front desk team, assistants, and nurses all create such a calm, welcoming environment. Everyone is incredibly professional, patient, and genuinely kind, which makes such a difference when bringing a child in for orthodontic treatment. Dr. Koval herself is truly exceptional.
